COLUMBUS, Ohio (Nov. 14, 2025) –    Saturday is America Recycles Day, and with recycling top of mind this weekend, Holloway CEO Brian Maxted spoke on behalf of TPI – Holloway about our new Lost Hills Materials Recovery Facility at Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA)‘s RCon, a recycling, waste and resource management conference in Columbus, Ohio.

Maxted presented a “Blueprint for Full-Circle Recycling,” showcasing the work being done by TPI, Holloway and other partners to recover valuable materials (plastics and metals) from our landfills, via Auto Shredder Residue (pictured) and other waste streams.

Those materials can then be made into post-consumer recycled products, such as pallets (pictured).

“Plastic waste is a major problem, particularly here on the West Coast,” Maxted said, “and we’re excited to be part of that solution.

“The opportunity is huge, trying to figure out what to do with our waste plastics,” he added.  “The plastic waste problem is a big one, some 57 million tons of plastic waste goes into the environment every year, and that problem is only growing. Here in the U.S., we only recycling about 5% of our plastics. We have to be better.”

Holloway looks forward to sharing more about this innovative MRF in coming months…
